How to Design Your Own Custom T-Shirt

Have a photo, a favourite saying or an idea you’d love to wear? A custom T-shirt turns it into something personal.

Whether you’re planning a family celebration, organising a group trip or creating a gift, a little preparation makes it easier to bring your design to life.

Start with the occasion

Think about who the shirt is for and when they’ll wear it. A birthday shirt might feature a photo and age, while a family cruise shirt could include your group name and travel year.

For a business shirt, a clear logo may be all you need. For a personal gift, a pet photo or a meaningful message can make it special.

Keep your main idea clear. Too many words or small details can make a design harder to read.

Choose your garment and colour

Choose from the garment styles, sizes and colours available on the product you’re ordering.

Consider how your artwork will look against the fabric. Dark wording usually stands out on a light shirt, while light wording is easier to read on a dark shirt.

If you’re unsure which colour will suit your design, ask us before placing your order.

Upload the clearest artwork you have

A clear original file gives your design the best starting point. Upload the original photo or artwork where possible, rather than a screenshot or an image saved from social media.

For logos and graphics, a high-quality PNG with a transparent background can be useful. Photos should be sharp, well lit and show the subject clearly.

Making a small, blurry image larger won’t restore the missing detail. If you’re unsure about your file, we can check it before printing.

Include your personalisation details

Tell us the wording, names and dates you want included. Check spelling carefully and explain any placement preferences.

If you’re ordering for a group, match each garment size with its personalisation so the details are easy to follow.

Only upload artwork you own or have permission to use.
